Air conditioning check

The air conditioning system not only keeps your head cool on hot days, but also prevents the windows from misting up in winter and on cold days. Together with the cabin air filter, it also ensures clean air all year round – protecting allergy sufferers in particular. As your vehicle’s air conditioning system is a system that requires maintenance, it should be checked at regular intervals to prevent damage and ensure optimum function.

Air conditioning check and service

It is advisable to carry out the air conditioning check every 12 months, as the cabin air filter removes dust, pollen and dirt particles from the air before it can flow clean and cooled into the cabin. Regular air conditioning maintenance also prevents the formation of bacteria, fungi and microorganisms in the air conditioning system.

The air conditioning service is usually carried out every 2 years, as up to 10% of the refrigerant in an air conditioning system can escape each year. This reduces the cooling capacity, the air conditioning system is no longer cold and there is a risk of compressor damage.
